Hope Finn Ives Raulerson

Hope Finn Ives Raulerson, 85, of Gates, NC, and formerly of Sunbury, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Gates House, Gatesville.

Mrs. Raulerson was born in Norfolk, VA on November 9, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Norman Charles, Sr. and Annie Eliza Overman Ives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Raulerson, Sr., her son, John Lee “Johnny” Raulerson, Jr., four sisters, and by five brothers.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Franklin Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Among her enjoyments she loved working on puzzles and studying genealogy.

Surviving are her five daughters, Teresa Kensey, Laura Casper (Greg), Brenda Bryant, Debra Riggs (Tracy), and Grace Raulerson; a son, William “Billy” Emerson (Susan); a sister, Carol Lee (Bob); a brother, Joe Ives (Barbara); 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild due to be born in January; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Casper-Taylor Family Cemetery in Eure. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville.
