Heather Ann Bandy

   Heather Ann Bandy, 40, of 590 South Square Drive, Apartment 3, Winterville, NC, died Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville.

   Heather was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 13, 1983 and was the daughter of the late Johnny Ray Bandy and Deborah Ann Deel Vanhorn. Disabled from birth, it didn’t stop a loving personality from shining through. She was happy, loved her hugs, lights and music, and was a joy everywhere she went. Raised in Creswell, she often attended Cherry Church of God and loved to worship. As a child and up to 18, she was educated in the Special Needs classes taught at Pines Elementary School in Plymouth.

   Surviving is her sister, best friend, and caregiver, Jennifer Bandy of the home; a brother, James Vanhorn of Bear Grass, and many extended family members and friends.

   A memorial service is being planned for the less busy time after the holiday season and will be held at Open Door Church in Edenton. When arrangements are finalized, they will be updated to this obituary.
