George Steven Benge

George Steven Benge, 83, of Hertford died Friday, November 21, 2025. He was a son of the late Jess Oakes and Madge Lee Allen Benge. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Harrell Benge.

Surviving are his sons, Byron Lee Benge and Roy Steven Benge (Sarah); his special son, Tommy Hollowell; two grandchildren, Ashley Dieffenbach (Michael Mansfield) and Steven Benge (Alysa); step-grandchildren, Aaron Cox, Adam Cox (Sierra), Christian Byrum and Heather Byrum; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Cole and Bryson; and one step-great-grandchild, Willow Cox.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, North Carolina officiating.
