Gaye Morgan Woolard

   Edna Gaye Morgan Woolard, 93, of 85 Gates Forest Road, Eure, NC, died Friday, June 3, 2022 in her home where she was cared for by her family.

   Gaye was born in Selma, NC on April 18, 1929, and was the daughter of the late George Herbert and Anna Corbett Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Woolard; two sons, Terrell Shane Haga and James Ashby Giles, Jr.; her sisters, Lorri and Betty; and by her brothers, Chuck and Harry.

   In earlier years before moving to Gates County, Gaye worked as the Checkout Supervisor with K-Mart at Military Circle, and later after relocating to North Carolina worked at Big Star and Harris Grocery Stores in Ahoskie and Family Foods of Gatesville. After retiring from Family Foods she worked as a greeter with Wal-Mart. Others in the surrounding area may remember Gaye for her many years of designing and creating ceramic dishes, animals, and other works of art. She was a member of the former Trinity Church of Christ in Winton.

   Surviving are her daughter, Jeanna Gaye Giles Rose (husband, Jeff) of Ahoskie; her son, John A. Giles (wife, Mickey) of Reidsville; step-children, Molly Woolard of Toledo, OH and Doug Woolard of Milledgeville, GA; her former daughter-in-law, Judith Harrington of Merritt Island, FL; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and her first great-great-grandchild due to be born in October. Gaye was so excited about that fifth generation baby!

   A gathering for family and friends to share memories and celebrate her life will be held Saturday, June 11^th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at her granddaughter Meagan’s home, 106 Hill Lane Road, Eure.

   Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with arrangements.
