Gail Nielsen Bunch
Gail Nielsen Bunch, 76, of Edenton, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in Portsmouth, VA after a brief illness. Born September 16, 1949 in Tipton, PA, she moved to the Edenton area as a child. She was the daughter of the late Ole S. and Virginia Taylor Nielsen. Gail was a medical billing specialist and enjoyed reading, cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Norfleet Bunch, Jr.; a daughter, Shannon Hovater and her husband, Grant; a son, Travis Bunch, all of Edenton; a sister, Ingred Lutton and her husband, Bud, of Winfall. She was preceded in death by a brother Kurt Nielsen.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Rd, Tyner, NC 27980.
