Freddy Peedin, Sr.

   Hardy Freddy Peedin, Sr., 73, of Shiloh, NC, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 in his home where he was being cared for by family.

   Mr. Peedin was born in Johnston County on July 18, 1948, and was the son of the late Hardy Junious Peedin and Dorothy Mae Kennedy Peedin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Scheuer, and by brothers, William, Jimmy, and Tommy Peedin.

   A firefighter, he retired from Norfolk Fire Department following 30 years of employment.

   Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Janet Sheppard Peedin; a son, Chip Peedin of Currituck; a daughter, Tammy Shilling (husband, Andy) of Aydlett; two sisters, Barbara Joan Clary (husband, John) of Chesapeake, VA and Joy Peedin Fraioli (husband, Pete) of Belvidere; five grandchildren, Cody, Sydney and Kyle Peedin, and Spencer and Whitney Shilling; two great-grandchildren, Lizzy and Parker Peedin; and many nieces and nephews.

   The family will receive visitors to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 29, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. in his daughter's home, 184 O'Neal Lane, Aydlett, NC 27916.
