Fred Bible

   Fred Bible, 92, of “Peaceful Pines”, in the Arrowhead Beach community, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in his home.

   Mr. Bible was born in Louisville, KY on March 1, 1931 and was the son of the late Leigh and Ida Loe Davidson Bible. In addition to his parents and his siblings, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Marie Bible and Freda White.

   A veteran, Mr. Bible served in both the Navy and Air Force. After his military service, he worked as a driver and retired from Greyhound Transport Company. He was a man with deep Christian beliefs and was a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served on the church Administrative Board and with the Men’s Fellowship. Time with his family, especially his grandchildren, meant everything to Fred. He loved to garden, tend his flowers, and both hunting and fishing.

   Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Patricia Basham “Pat” Bible; two children, Lori Guynn (husband, Bill) of Virginia Beach, VA and Thomas Grover of Gates; six grandchildren, Jordan, Tucker, Allison, Rose Marie, John Lee, and Richard; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Oliver; and special nieces, Jo Pugh, Alice Gandy, and Sara Torbert.

   A service celebrating his life will be held Monday, April 3^rd, at 1:00 p.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1614 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Pastor Danny Gurganus. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the social hall immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.

   The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to his Veterans Administration nurse, Karen Votava, for the care and comfort given to Fred during his time of declining health.
