Frank Ainsley Brown, Sr.

   Franklin Ainsley “Frank” Brown, Sr., 75, of 507 Edenton Road Street, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018, in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Hertford.

   Mr. Brown was born in Perquimans County on July 10, 1943, and was the son of the late Young Lee and Hazel Ainsley Brown. The owner and operator of Brown’s Land Clearing, he was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church, and had also been active with Jaycees. He was an Army veteran.

   Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Joanne Sawyer Brown; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Brown, and husband, John Livingston; two sons, Franky Brown, Jr. and wife, Michelle; and Lyl Brown and wife, Natalie; a sister, Betty Brown; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Brown; and six grandchildren, Mitchell, Logan, Landon, Colby, Benjamin, and Alexander.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by Todd Tilley. A private burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence.
