Elton Carroll Griffin

Elton Carroll Griffin, 84, of Edenton died Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born August 27, 1941 to the late Jessie Lester Griffin and Vivian Dail Griffin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Lester Earl Griffin.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Gloria Faye Crummey Griffin; two sons Elton Carroll Griffin, Jr. (Mary) and James Griffin (Angela); one daughter Kimberly Hufton (Dallas); one sister Dorothy Griffin; five grandchildren Emily Cahoon (Thomas), Dallas (DJ) Hufton,II, Tiffany Harrell (Joshua), Zackary Griffin and Jennifer Abatsis; five great-grandchildren Tanner, Tyler, Addison, Annabelle and Alex.

A celebration of Carroll’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Miller & VanEssendelft Funeral Home, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton with Pastor Steve Hill and Pastor Bernard Hurdle officiating. Burial will be private.
