Edward Bruce “Eddie” Wilson, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was 71.
Eddie grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and graduated from the Virginia Beach Public School System. A man gifted in many trades, Eddie’s later years were with Modern Lightning Protection, where he was a loved and valued supervisor.
A man with a big heart, he would do anything to help anyone, often quietly and behind the scenes. Having a contagious faith, Eddie never missed an opportunity both to share his faith and to encourage others. He was a true evangelist. Eddie loved everything “outdoors,” especially the water, whether it was lifeguarding, surfing or fishing. The twinkle in his eye and his quick sense of humor have been enjoyed by those who knew him. Eddie was a life-bringer. Family was tremendously important to this Godly man. He was a very loving and protective person over his family. Eddie’s wonderfully well-rounded life included interests in sports, Beatles music, theatre and ballet, although his greatest passion was Christmas. Christmas music was enjoyed year-round, and he delighted in Christmas traditions, events and programs. Eddie was a beautiful human being and will be greatly missed.
Surviving is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Connie Wilson, of Hendersonville; his son, Charlie Wilson Nimitz; stepchildren: Joseph Michael Williford and wife Jennifer of Hendersonville, James Andrew Williford of Norfolk, VA, Thomas Bradley Williford and Chandler of Suffolk, VA, and Cathy W. Williford of Elizabeth City, NC; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four brothers-in-law: Joe, Mickey, and Mark Pacini, and Chester Kylstra and wife Betsy.
