Earl Bradford Gillis, of Edenton, NC, born February 29, 1948 in Asheville, NC, and died October 11, 2024.
Graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Wildlife Management, his entire career was spent working with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. He was passionate about the abundant diversity of the State of NC and loved the great outdoors. When he wasn’t working, he was always outdoors—gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, or boating.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; two beautiful daughters, Julie and Jennifer (Matt); a loving stepdaughter, Kristen (Tim); and stepson, Craig; a sister, Linda Averette (James); and brothers, Dan and Doug (Marsha); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his four-legged friend, Gabby.
He was a man of great wit and compassion. Family meant everything to him. We will miss him. God speed and safe home.
