Donna Marie Miller

Donna Marie Miller, 83, of Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

Ms. Miller was born in Detroit, MI on November 19, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Carl Clifford and Vera Frances Sylvain Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Mills, her sister, Pat Hill, and by brothers, Vernon and John Miller.

A court clerk, she had retired from the San Diego County Marshall’s Office in San Diego, CA. An avid traveler having seen much of the country, she always lived life with courage, grace and excitement. Other enjoyments included skydiving and most importantly her love of horses, having been known to be an accomplished rider. An amazing woman, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was open-minded, accepting, and taught her family to never settle for anything less than what they deserved. She was proud to have raised multiple generations of strong women and men.

Surviving are her three daughters, Denise Molter of Lakeside, CA, Jenise Barker (Jim) of Ramona, CA, and Frances Carman (Steven) of Moyock; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held.
