Dennis H. Kuchta

Dennis H. Kuchta, 78, of Edenton, NC passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born December 1, 1947 in Southington, CT and lived in CT, MA, VA and finally settled in Edenton.

Dennis deeply loved and was devoted to his family. He took pride in their accomplishments and joy in their company. He was a fiercely loyal friend, beloved by many, and brought joy to his communities: his town, his church, his work, and his golf.

Dennis was an electrical/acoustic engineer and spent his last 25 working years as a NASA contractor in Virginia. But, outside of his family, his true, life long passion was golf. He was always happy on the golf course, enjoyed spending time outside with his golfing friends, and was recently delighted that his grandson was the first immediate family member to share interest in the game.

In addition to golf, he was an all around avid sports person and extended that enthusiasm to the next generation as a volunteer coach for recreational and travel soccer teams, and later for a JV High School golf team. He also found reward in volunteering for the Red Cross, church vestries, and with horse rescue following Jean with her passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Kuchta and Clare Wojniak Kuchta and his siblings, Dorthy Neville and Richard Kuchta. Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Jean Goodale Kuchta, daughter Alison Kuchta (Lai Saephan), sons Adam Kuchta and Joseph Kuchta (Jodie), his sister Evelyn Weaver, grandsons Gabriel Kuchta and Bennett Kuchta, and extended family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Hertford, NC.
