Deborah Susan Jones, 67, of Gatesville, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2026, following a courageous year-and-a-half battle with cancer.

Born on April 30, 1959, in Pigeon, Michigan, Deborah was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She was funny, strong-willed, caring, outspoken, and generous. Deborah spoke her mind, loved deeply, and was always willing to help those she cared about.

She loved being outdoors and was happiest spending time hunting and fishing with her husband, Jake. Whether she was out in nature, sharing time with family, or caring for her beloved dogs and cats, Deborah found joy in the simple things and in the people she loved. To her six grandchildren—Tanner, Charles, Shane, Kyleigh, Willow, and Bently—she was lovingly known as “Nena.”

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Wager and Barbara Clunis. She is survived by her husband, Jake Jones; her children, Sean Perry and his wife, Lesley; Jean Smith; Dean Perry and his wife, Jacqualyn; her stepson, Jacob Jones; and her six grandchildren.

Her strength, laughter, and unconditional love will remain with her family always. Deborah will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
