David Richard Taft

David Richard Taft, 64, of Edenton, NC, passed away, Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

David was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on September 21, 1961, and was the son of the late Franklin Leonard Taft, Sr. and Shirley Ann Stackhouse Taft.

David is preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin Taft, Jr., and Robert Taft, Sr.

David is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Taft; sons, David Taft, Jr. (Leslie), Gerald Lassiter III, and Travis Hurdle ; siblings, Thomas Taft (Tricia), William Taft, Susan Norflett (Bob), Geoffrey Taft (Lena), Lori Stilels (Donnie), Michael Taft (Elizabeth); sister-in-laws, Barbara and Lara; and six grandchildren, Regan, Amilya, Cara, Hayden, Adilyn, and Payton.
