David Louis Phelps, Sr., 66, of Roper, NC passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Born on July 31, 1959, David was the husband of 43 years to Rosemary Twiddy Phelps and the son of Raymond Louis Phelps, Jr. And Alyce Loraine Snell Phelps, both deceased.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three sons, David Louis Phelps, Jr. and wife, Melanie, Adam Claude Phelps and wife, Tremaine, and Aaron Reid Phelps and wife, Rachael; three granddaughters, Sara Addie Phelps, Emma Grace Phelps, and Jasmine Olivia Phelps; four sisters, Kathy Louise Clark, Ricky Shorkey and husband, Jimmy, Cindy Young, and Amanda Kinsler; and his two beloved fur babies, Ben and Shadow.

Funeral services celebrating David’s life will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Edenton Church of God, Edenton, NC with Pastor Frank Halsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Cooper-Twiddy Family Cemetery, Creswell, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
