David Clark Eves, 52, of Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in his home.
Mr. Eves was born in Pasquotank County on November 5, 1969, and was the son of Charlie Clark Eves and Hazel Hassell Eves of Camden. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Ethelyn Eves; and maternal grandparents, Wilbert Hassell (his wife, Essie) and Mabel Hassell.
A self-employed carpenter, he grew up in the fellowship of Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was active in the William Clarence Jackson Post 6060 of Veterans of Foreign Wars where he spent a lot of time assisting in various activities and projects. Other enjoyments in his life included playing the piano and drums, the game of pool, going hunting and fishing, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his daughter, Haley N. Eves of Corapeake; three sons, David Michael "Mike" Eves (Lisa) of Elizabeth City, Matthew W. Allen (Michelle) of Hertford, and Bradley N. Eves of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Sharleen Ledford of Shiloh and Rebecca Whittemore (Nathan) of Medford, OR; a brother, Terry Eves (Robin) of Shiloh; three grandchildren, Shawn, Ray, and Aubree; his companion, Ginnie Brown of Elizabeth City (her two daughters, Haley and Audrey Brown); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 31, at 4:00 p.m. in Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church, 945 S. Sandy Hook Road, Shiloh, and will be conducted by Pastor Jon Mason.
