David Wayne Byrum, Sr.

   David Wayne Byrum, Sr., 59, of 104 West Mulberry Street, Winton, NC, died Monday, April 3, 2023 in ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, Washington, NC.

   David was born in Bertie County on August 28, 1963 and was the son of the late James Edward “Jimmy” Byrum, Sr. and Hazel Garrett Byrum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James E. “Big Bird” Byrum, Jr.

   David was formerly employed at the Target Warehouse in Suffolk, Virginia, working in the distribution department.

   Surviving is wife and companion of 40 years, Victoria Miller “Vicki” Byrum; two sons, David Wayne Byrum, Jr. and James Charles Byrum, both of Winton; a daughter, Lucretia Marie Jones of Ohio; two sisters, Pam Skinner of Edenton and Fay Fender of Portsmouth, VA; and five grandchildren.

   In accordance with his wishes, no service is planned.

   Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, assisted the family with arrangements.
