Christopher Edwin Weeks, Sr., age 82, passed away on September, 16th, 2026, at his home located in Elizabeth City, NC.

Chris was born on October 7, 1943 in Elizabeth City, NC. Chris was the child of James Matthew Weeks, Sr. and Eunice Pope Weeks.

Chris excelled scholastically and after graduating from high school at the age of 16 he attended UNC Chapel Hill, College of the Albemarle, and Humboldt State University to study Fishery and Wildlife. Chris completed his education at East Carolina University, receiving a BA degree. Upon graduation, Chris enlisted in the Army where he served for two years.

Chris loved the outdoors and sports. He hiked the Appalachian Trail and frequently canoed on the local waterways. For over ten years, Chris also delighted in producing pepper crops and harvesting the seeds which he sold online.

One of his first positions was that of Assistant Golf Pro at the local Elizabeth City Country Club. Chris was owner of Weeks Hardware & Garden Center and Aardvark carpet cleaning, before later transitioning to Park Services. He worked at Big Bend National Park in Texas and then moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he worked at the Wright Brother’s National Park until he retired.

Chris is survived by his two sons, Christopher Edwin Weeks, Jr. of Rodanthe, NC, and Michael Robert Weeks of Southern Shores, NC; their mother, Dinah Beveridge; a grandson, Henry Weeks; two sisters, Marcella W. Austin and Barbara W. Collins; a brother, Stephen B. Weeks (Kathy); a sister-in-law, Becky Weeks; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chris was predeceased by two brothers, James M. Weeks, Jr. and James M. Weeks, III.

Chris will be missed by all who loved him! To celebrate his life, friends and family are invited to gather at his sister Marcie’s home on Wed., Oct. 7, 3 pm, at 3944 W. Soundside Road, Nags Head.
