Christopher “Chris” Samuel Haynes, 26, of Murfreesboro, NC passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was born on January 13, 2000. He lived a life filled with laughter, passion and a deep love for his family and friends.
Chris was the son of Richard Samuel Haynes and Helen Margaret Haynes. He was a devoted fiancé of Victoria Vann and an incredibly proud father to his two daughters Riley (4) and Ellie (1). His daughters were truly his world and anyone that knew him knowshow much he loved and protected his family.
Christopher is survived by his siblings and their families: Alex and Brittany Streets (Colton & Tristan), Andrew (Kanwe Yest), Lacey Streets (Ryland, Jack, and Charley), Ben Haynes (Malcolm and Layla), and Katie Haynes; his grandparents Melvyn and Mary Streets, Susan Saunders in addition to many loving aunts and uncles (Dave and Jon), to include beloved family members and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Benjamin Woodrow Haynes, and grandmother Margaret Lynden Streets.
Chris had a larger-than-life personality and had a heart to match. A multi-sport athlete (baseball & football), Chris was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Carolina Panthers. He was a great gaming buddy to many and gladly helped those he cared for. Chris loved experimental grilling, video games, dirt bikes, guitars, freestyle lyricism, anything spicy, and working on cars (specifically Volkswagens and other like engine types).
He liked to work in general contracting and took pride in building and fixing residential and commercial properties. Chris will be remembered for his heart of gold, loyalty to family, and how he took care of those closest to him. While his passing leaves a great void, the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of all that knew him.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, and a service will be held at a later date in the Miller Funeral Home chapel in Gatesville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the site that will contribute to his daughters’ scholastic future. A donation site is in progress.
