Charles Alfred Stork, III

   Charles Alfred Stork, III, 81, of 96 Old Rail Bed Road, Gates, NC, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 in his home.

   Mr. Stork was born in New Jersey on July 12, 1940, and was the son of the late Charles Alfred, Jr. and Frances Jane Hulling Stork. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Shirley Whalen Stork; a sister, Beverly Muzer; a brother, Walter Stork; and by a grandson, Daniel.

   A retired carpenter, he was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed working with is horses.  He was a Marine Corps veteran.

   Surviving is his two daughters, Tonya Williams (husband, Ricky) of Gates and Cheryl Goebel (husband, Matthew) of Xenia, OH; two sons, Charles Stork, IV (wife, Robin) of Hertford and William Lewan of Xenia; dear friends, Jeff and Linda Christian of Costa Rica; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shirley, Cassie, Casey, Zachery, and Ashley; 13 great-grandchildren; his canine companions, Patch and Babygirl; and his feline friend, Fatso the Cat.

   A private celebration of his life will be held. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to any organization that works to save animals.
