Cecelia Williams Boulerice, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Elizabeth City, NC, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born on September 23, 1933, in the quaint town of Fairfield, NC, Cecelia's life was one of dedication, love, and service.
Cecelia was the cherished daughter of the late Harold C. Williams and Mary Afadell Williams. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda R. Lewis, her sister, Kris Hook, and her brother, Chesley Wayne Williams. Her enduring spirit and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on her surviving family: her daughters, Linda Gayle Harker and Angel C. Hofler, her son, Romeo (Ray) Boulerice, eight adored grandchildren; Micheal Lewis (Alsu) of Grandy, NC, Victoria Singerson of Virginia Beach, VA, Brandi Powell of Elizabeth City, NC, Nikki Carawan (Justin) of Elizabeth City, NC, Blythe Boulerice of Oregon, Zachary Boulerice of Chattanooga, TN, Russell Jones of Elizabeth City, NC, and Jason Jones of Elizabeth City, NC; and nine great-grandchildren.
Throughout her career as a medical assistant, Cecelia touched the lives of many with her gentle kindness and unwavering concern for others. Her colleagues and patients alike praised her for her empathy and ability to bring comfort to those in need. Cecelia's commitment to her work in healthcare was matched only by her devotion to her faith as a Jehovah's Witness. Known for her generous heart, she never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Cecelia’s life was a testament to the values she upheld—love, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to her beliefs. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing her.
In memory of Cecelia, let us honor her by embodying the kindness and compassion she so effortlessly shared with the world.
The family will be receiving visitors at her daughter, Angel’s, residence 1101 Florida Rd., Elizabeth City NC, 27909, starting at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 20, 2026.
