Carole Stagg Dail

   Carole Anne Stagg Dail, 75, of 260 Hunter's Fork Road, Tyner, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mrs. Dail was born in Norfolk, VA on April 27, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Stewart Earl "Dickie" Stagg and Phyllis Ann Merritt Broizowski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Jo Scellato Reid: a step-son, Joey Dail; a sister, Melanie Brunner; and by a brother, Billy Broizowski.

   A homemaker, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. A member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, she previously enjoyed membership in Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church where she had taught Sunday school. Other enjoyments included her fellowship and time spent nearly every day of the week with her friends at the local Hardees in Hertford.

   Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Hubert "Preston" Dail, Jr; three sons, Eddie Scellato (wife, Kim) of Elizabeth City, Joseph Christopher Scellato of Belvidere, and Gary Scellato of Edenton; two daughters, Crystal Ann Harrell of Tyner and Casaundra Ann Scellato of Edenton; a step-son, Robert Preston "Bobby" Dail of Gatesville; a step-daughter, Theresa Ann Fulcher (husband, Charles) of Corapeake; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and her canine companion, Sophie.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be conducted by Pastor Danny Gurganus. Burial will follow in the Copeland Family Cemetery near the home. Friends may join the family at the residence.
