Buddy Sykes

   Lovett Carroll “Buddy” Sykes, Jr., 58, 469 Barfield Road, Eure, NC, died Friday, January 14, 2022 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

   Mr. Sykes was born in Virginia Beach, VA on September 28, 1963, and was the son of the late Lovett Carroll Sykes, Sr. and Mary Agnes Ainsley Girod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evette Michelle Tater Sykes; and by a sister, Mary Carol Powers.

   A Navy veteran, Mr. Sykes was a crane operator with NASSCO, formerly Metro Machine.

   Surviving is a daughter, Valarie Michelle Sykes (fiancé, Steven Daniel Bucher) of Baxter, TN; a sister, Susan Olene White of Woodland; and other extended family members.
