Bobby Charles Wiese passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his home in Perquimans County on June 18, 2025.
A native of Rosebud, Texas, born on August 28, 1942, Bobby was the son of the late Richard and Inez Wiese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, DeeAnn Cabron of New York.
At the heart of Bob's life was his family. Surviving is his wife, Dee Wiese of the home; three daughters, Darlene Currie of Canada, Anne Cooper of Currituck and Jennifer McGough (Adam) of Utah. Bob had nine grandchildren who he dearly loved. His legacy of strength and integrity lives through them. Also surviving are two brothers, Joe Wiese (Cynthia) of Texas and Andy Wiese (Rena) of Tennessee; and a sister, Debrah Griffin of Texas.
Bobby served with honor in the United States Coast Guard, rising to the rank of Master Chief and specializing as a C-130 electrician. Known for his stern but fair leadership, he earned the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him. His work ethic, loyalty, and deep sense of responsibility left a lasting impression throughout his military career.
After retiring from the Coast Guard, Bobby brought the same discipline and determination to his second career, running a successful HVAC business. He was the kind of man who could fix just about anything—and usually did, often for neighbors and friends who found themselves in need. Helping others wasn’t just something he did; it was who he was.
Hardworking and famously stubborn, Bobby also followed his passions with gusto. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and turned that love into a taxidermy business. A diehard fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, Bobby never missed a chance to cheer on his teams, often with a grandchild or two by his side.
Bobby Wiese will be remembered for his tough exterior, tender heart, and unwavering commitment to those around him. Whether leading with authority in uniform, teaching a grandchild to cast a line, or helping a neighbor in need, he lived a life full of meaning and service.
Per his request, there will be no funeral. His ashes will be scattered in the gulf stream by his grandson, Caleb where they fished so many times together.
The family kindly asks for no flowers but to please may make a contribution to the charity of one’s choice in honor of Bob.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Leslie Robbins of Currituck and to Albemarle Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful job and great compassion provided for the family on every level of their service.
