Betty Higa Thompson

Betty Higa Thompson, 95, of Hertford, NC died March 14, 2026 at her home. Betty was born on November 4, 1930 in Lanai, Hawaii. She was the widow of Paul D. Thompson and worked for many years as a real estate agent.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Chele Hamada (Elden), granddaughter Denele (Kristen), grandson Nathan (Ryan) and great-grandchildren Zen, Aria and Harper, all of Las Vegas. She is also survived by her son, David Thompson (Jane) of Georgia, grandson Alex (Bonnie) of Georgia and grandson Josh (Blake) of Chicago, and great-grandchildren Ethan and Katherine. Betty is also survived by her brother, Wally Higa, of California and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Betty will be interred next to her husband Paul at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville, NC at a later date.
