Bertha Catherine Hess

   Bertha Catherine Blundon Hess, 75, of 41 Thicket Road, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home.

   Mrs. Hess was born in Washington, DC on June 12, 1946 and was the only child born to the late Robert and Mary Donn Blundon. An accountant for several non-profit organizations, she was faithful member of Upper Room Assembly in Gatesville where she was active in the Food Pantry and Recovery Program. She also participated in Missions Trips to Haiti through Supply and Multipy.

   Surviving is her husband of nearly 31 years, Jerry Lee Hess; her daughter, Catherine Weakley (Allen) of Virginia Beach, VA; her son, Richard Shipley (Connie) of Shepherdstown, WV; three grandchildren, Sean Weakley, Sharon Philbin (Drew) and Kaitlin Vasterling (Phil); and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Angela, Ayden, Ariel, Koda, Byron and Wilder.

   A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Upper Room Assembly and will be conducted by her pastor, Eric Earhardt. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the fellowship area of the church immediately following the service.
