Ben Marriner

   Benjamin Todd "Ben" Marriner, 65, of Beechnut Avenue, South Mills, NC, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 in his home where he was being cared for by family.

   Mr. Marriner was born in Portsmouth, VA on August 8, 1956, and was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Marriner and Mary Barber Marriner. A retired carpenter, his favorite hobbies included hunting and fishing, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

   Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Myrtis Sawyer Marriner; a daughter, Kelly Gallop (husband, Aron); a son, Jeffrey Sawyer, all of South Mills; a sister, Elizabeth Trotman; a brother, William "Pete" Marriner, both of Edenton; three grandsons, Christopher Stevenson (wife, Kaitlyn), and Anthony and Noah Gallop; three great-granddaughters, Braelynn, Camden, and Avery; many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; and two nephews, Michael and Matthew whom he raised as grandsons.

  A private memorial service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
