Barbara Ann Tatem "Wilbur" Hollowell

Barbara Ann Tatem “Wilbur” Hollowell, 70, of Edenton, NC passed away peacefully with her daughter and family by her side on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Barbara was born in Norfolk, VA on May 6, 1955 to Wilson Prike Tatem and Vera Mae Stone Tatem, both deceased. She dedicated her life to being a Mom and Gammie. Barbara loved her daughter and grandkids unconditionally, never leaving their side. She liked to laugh, joke, and spend time with her family and friends. Barbara was one of the most caring, loving, unselfish, and giving souls to ever be created by God.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ann Hollowell; grandson, Kodie Oliver; granddaughter, Lilley Fawn Bodamer; two brothers, Ronnie Tatem and Butch Tatem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Greg Lee Tatem; two sisters, Linda Tatem and Sandra Tatem; and two brothers, Wilson “Billy” Tatem and Mike “Red” Tatem.

A graveside service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Riverside Memorial Park, 1000 E. Indian River Road, Norfolk, VA.
