Ann Stevenson Ambrose, 87, of 683 Old Cherry Road, Creswell, NC, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 in her home where she was being cared for by family.
Mrs. Ambrose was born in Bertie County on September 20, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Viola Staley Stevenson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frank Bright, two brothers, Henry and Phillip Stevenson, and by two great-grandchildren.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she retired from Pelican Vinyl Products in Edenton. She was a member of Philippi Church of Christ where she was active in the Ladies Circle for many years. Other enjoyments included her love of cooking, sewing, and gardening.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Ernest Irdell Ambrose; two daughters, Nina Bright of Creswell and Barbara Miller (husband, Randy) of Ahoskie; her son, Ernest “Buck” Ambrose (wife, Doreen) of Edenton; a brother, Billy Stevenson of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Philippi Church of Christ Cemetery, and will be conducted by Glenn Brickhouse, Jimmy Davenport, and Randy Miller. Friends may visit with the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service, and other times at the residence.
