Amy Susan Stone, 49, of Hertford, NC, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Stone was born on March 31, 1976, and was the daughter of David Charles Malmgren (wife, Lynnette) of Deer Trail, CO and Lori Ann Watts Morrisette (husband, Robert) of Grandy. A registered nurse, she had been employed with the Sentara Healthcare System for many years. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Elizabeth City. A loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister, her family meant everything to her, and she deeply cherished each moment spent with them.
Surviving in addition to her parents is her husband of nearly 30 years, Joseph E. Stone, III; four sons, Joseph Stone, IV (wife, Chelsea), Jonathan Stone (fiancée, Colleen Morris), Jacob Stone, and Joshua Stone, all of Hertford; her brother, Daniel Malmgren of Strasburg, CO; her granddaughter, Jamie Rose Stone, who is due to be born in November; and other extended family members. Also dear to her were her father and mother-in-law, Joseph, Jr. and Jacqueline Catherine Stone of Moyock.
Her sister, Tiffany Rains, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Victory Baptist Church and will be conducted by Pastor R.L. Parker. Friends may visit with the family in the church the hour prior to the service on Saturday. A private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

She fought breast cancer hard these past 13 years, and the family deeply appreciates your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time and in the days ahead.
