Edward Thomas Montgomery

Edward Thomas Montgomery, 86, of 300 Wynne Fork Court, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Mr. Montgomery was born in Syracuse, NY on September 23, 1928, and was the son of the late Edward A. and Ellen Drumm Montgomery. A retired plumber, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Theresa Epoch Montgomery. Surviving are his daughter, Martha O'Leary and husband Cornelius of Erieville, NY; four sons, Michael Montgomery of Cary, Matthew Montgomery and wife Josie of Las Vegas, NV, Mitchell Montgomery and wife Karen of Syracuse, and Mark Montgomery and wife Mary of Edenton; eleven grandchildren, Kaitilin and Janell Gilmer, Matthias, Mary Theresa, Morgan, Madeline, Mark, and Molly Montgomery, Conner O'Leary, Anne White, and Nicole Owens; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later time in Syracuse, NY. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, assisted the family with arrangements.
