Marvin Ray Twiford, Sr.

Marvin Ray "Rick" Twiford, Sr., 78, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Winslow Memorial Home.

   Mr. Twiford was born in Richmond County, VA and was the son of the late Enoch Marvin and Nana Hubbard Twiford. Retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections Training Center, he was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

   Surviving are his wife, Ann Brickhouse Twiford; a daughter, Cissy Hansen and husband Jeff of Elizabeth City; a son, Marvin Ray Twiford, Jr. and wife Juli of South Carolina; a step-daughter, Jan Lewis and husband Mark of Elizabeth City; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
