Robert Clark Ascher

   Robert Clark "Bob" Ascher, 75, of 156 Willow Street, Hertford, NC, died Monday, March 21, 2016 in his home.

   Mr. Ascher was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 14, 1940, and was the son of the late David and Nellie Clark Ascher. Retired as a coordinator for health and physical education from Newport News Public Schools, he was a member of Snug Harbor Community Church and the Edward G. Bond Post #40 of the American Legion.

   Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judith Mathews Ascher; a daughter, Christy Ascher Tankersley and husband Ken of Williamsburg, VA; a son, Kendal Ascher of New York City, NY; a brother, David Ascher and wife Barbara of Smithfield, VA; and two granddaughters, Ava and Zoe Tankersley.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
