Rebecca Langston Tinkham

   Rebecca Slade Langston Tinkham, 76, of 138 Tinkham Road, Eure, NC, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

   Mrs. Tinkham was born in Gates County on February 27, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Timothy O. and Rebecca Slade Langston. A homemaker, in years past she had worked with her sister at Nell’s Florist in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Liverman, and a brother, Bill Langston.

   Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Roland L. Tinkham; her daughter, Jackie Taylor and husband Glenn of Eure; her son, Mike Tinkham and wife Angela of Cherokee; two brothers, Otis Langston of Gretna, VA and John Langston of Norfolk, VA; three grandsons, Kevin Terry, Nick Terry, and Neil Tinkham; and two great-grandsons, Kayden and Tristen Terry.

   A graveside service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by family friend, The Rev. Wayne Gardner, and her pastor, The Rev. Joe McKnight. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
