Theda A. Sanders

   Theda Ann Sanders, 67, of 1232 Ocean Highway North, Hertford, NC passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mrs. Sanders was born in Beaufort County on August 23, 1949 to the late Mildred Alexander Pegram.  A homemaker, she attended Fountain of Life Ministries in Elizabeth City.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Elaine Pegram, and by a brother, Linwood "Buddy" Pegram.

   Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Joseph Ferebee Sanders, III; three daughters, Dorinda Adkins and husband Ronald, Theresa Lane and husband Michael, all of Elizabeth City, and Iris Renee Reeves of Raleigh; a sister, Emma East of Camden; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Adkins, Samantha Turner, Joshua, Benjamin, and Janet Lane, Kenneth "Jamie" Reeves, and Rebekah Wisniewski; and two great-granddaughters, Addi and Lillian.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford.  Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Friday, and all other times at the home of her daughter, Dorinda, 218 Simpson Street, Elizabeth City.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one's charity of choice.
