Steven Lee Walker

   Steven Lee Walker, 53, of Cedar Stretch Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 in his home.

    Mr. Walker was born in Norfolk, VA on January 16, 1964.  A retired ship fitter from Metro Machine Corporation of Norfolk, he was a member of Hertford Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Walker, and by a brother.

    Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Lura Page Walker; a daughter, Katie Hamby and husband Josh of Greenville; a son, Grant Walker and fiancée Molly of Hertford; his mother, Cecelia Lowe Walker of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Cora, Joshua, and Rowen; and four sisters.

    A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Hertford Baptist Church, and will be officiated by the Rev. Greg Clark.  Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
