Jesse Willard East

   Jesse Willard East, 88, formerly of Grubb Street, Herford, NC died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Concordia Transitional Health and Rehabilitation, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. East was born in Camden County on August 26, 1929, and was the son of the late Walter L. and Minerva Little East. He was a retired carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Lee East; sisters, Frances Taylor, Sybil Elliott, Myrtle Lamb, and Shirley Taylor; and by brothers, Russell and Walter East, Jr.

   Surviving are his sister, Blanche Harrell of Tyner; a brother, Leroy East of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. A private burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home during the hour prior to the services on Friday.
