Fleetwood Linwood “Buddy” Harrell, Jr., 57, of 329 Yellow Hammer Road, Tyner, NC, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018.
Buddy was a lifelong resident of Chowan County, born July 21, 1960, and was the son of Betty Jane Chappell Harrell of Tyner, and the late Fleetwood L. Harrell, Sr. Employed with the Department of Defense Testing Facility at Harvey Point, he was a faithful member of Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and as Director of Sunday School.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sherry Layden and Denise Dail.
Surviving with his mother are his wife of over 36 years, Cathy Bateman Harrell; two sons, Joshua Linwood Harrell and Nathan Taylor Harrell; a sister, Hope Harrell; and two brothers, Jack “Tony” Harrell and Paul Harrell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. Ron Parr. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, or in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.
